Alder Hey Hospital will remain a dedicated centre for cardiac treatment following a national review of children’s cardiac services. Safe and Sustainable – the NHS review into the future of children’s congenital heart services in England – has included Merseyside’s famous children’s hospital in all four options being put forward for a four month public consultation later this month. The decision to retain Alder Hey as the leading cardiac centre in the North West means the cardiac service is set to expand with annual patient numbers expected to increase. Read more here
