Alder Hey became a Foundation Trust on 1 st August 2008. This is a fantastic achievement for the Trust. Whilst we are still part of the NHS and subject to all the same standards and regulations as other hospitals, we are now able to make our own choices regarding future service development.
This has many benefits, we are able to use financial surpluses to develop services and borrow money to fund new developments. Through our members and Council of Governors we are more able to listen to the views and needs of the communities we serve and tailor our services to meet these needs.
